All went smoothly enough -

Taxi ride to airport in Rome organised by apartment manager was painless.
The queue to go through the security check seemed longer than usual.
Transit in KL not too long.
The plane to Sydney was delayed and then there was a delay attaching the airbridge at Sydney. We feared we would not make the connecting bus to Canberra - the last for the night - and started to think of other options while waiting to get off the plane. We walked off the plane at 7.30pm and were sitting at the bus stop at 8pm - largely courtesy of a customs official who was wandering around the throng waiting at the baggage carousel. We told him of our sealed food, got a much prized green stamp and bypassed the customs area .We had a half hour wait in the cold for the bus.

It was good to get back to Canberra. I could not get to sleep for ages and then realized I was cold. It was about 2 degrees outside . For 5 weeks I have slept with just a sheet (except for a few nights when I had a light cover over the sheet and a few when it was too hot for a sheet)

Now to catch up on the pile of paperwork and the weeds in the garden...
