Oslo

We took a local bus full of school children to the peninsular where there is the Flam ship. This was revolutionary polar design by nanson in late 1890s. Amendments used it to sail to antarctica and then go by dog sled to the south pole, then return. 3 year journey. We were able to walk over the ship and see some of the things that were in it for that and other expeditions.  There was another boat used to explore the north west passage and lots of information about the conditions.

In the afternoon we went on a bus trip. The guide pointed out all the major sights of Oslo.  We went to Vigeland, a park that consists of many statues created between by Mr Vigeland , all about the stages of life, people of all ages. We also were taken thru the suburbs to a lookout built at a huge ski jump.

Norway has excellent prices for seniors. No proof, other than wrinkles, needed for transport tickets and museum entries. Almost half price.
