Sydney week 3

Sunday:  Noel arrived at lunch time and we caught the bus to Vaucluse House and pottered around the rooms. Most enjoyable. Walked to Watsons Bay, fish and chips, ferry back to Circular Quay.  Very picturesque, travelling into the setting sun. We watched a huge, monstrous cruise ship negotiating it's way out of its birth and onto it's journey.

Monday: We went ( train to gosford then hire car) to visit a cousin of Noels who I had not met and then a schoolfriend  of mine and her husband.

Tuesday: Maritime Museum. We wandered over the submarine, destroyer, patrol boat and the tall ship and looked at the Shackleton exhibition. In the evening we went to the Opera, Pearl fishers.

Wednesday : We pottered around some of Glebes old buildings and Noel went home in the afternoon.

Thursday: Wendy was in town and I spent most of the day pottering around the city with her.

Friday : After morning tea with one of my Frivolous Friends, I went to the museum of Sydney.  Before looking at any exhibits, I had a delicious relaxed lunch. After lunch, I  decided I did not want to tax my holidaying brain so went to look at patterns in a wool shop instead.

Saturday : I loitered over breakfast, caught up with my photos, then walked to the fish markets for lunch and a leisurely walk home via Black wattle Bay and some different streets.

Sunday : I visited my cousin and her husband  at Katoomba in their new house.

Monday: I visited my cousins daughter and her young family in the morning, then went to Milsons Point for a nice luncH.  I wanted to have a ride on the ferris wheel at Luna Park, but the cheapest ticket I could buy was for 2 rides, so I went on the carousel as well.  The ferris wheel was ok , nice views but the carousel was ordinary. The horses did not have names like the lovely one I went on in NY. As I was sitting looking toward the harbour bridge from my lunch table I watched  68 people walk or jog past . Of theses, 46 had no hat, 6 people had a sun visor, and only 16 h ad a hat or cap on.
